Tyler Kennedy is certainly not going to be a game changer by any means but if Pittsburgh is looking to find their good habits again, Kennedy is more than capable of playing that style of game. Kennedy also has speed which is the skill at a premium right now in the NHL.
This. I'd be a lot more comfortable with TK making $2M/year if we didn't have Glass' $1.1M on our books. |

Do we have to use our two buy out options this year only? |

No, you can use them next year as well. |

I believe you can use them this year or next but only two in total. |

Thanks. So we have no reason to buy out any of our players right now. Not even Fleury (can rebound back) or Glass (only $1.1M). |

I wouldn't be surprised to see Shero buy out Glass. He doesn't fit our system, and Shero just traded for a 4th line guy who i think will. Resigning Adams to the league minimum, a 4th line of Vitale, Adams, and Zolnierczyk would be costing the Pens under 2 million. |

Joe Vitale should be an extra, not a regular on the 4th line. |

I'd take Vitale any day over Glass on the 4th line. If he only could add PK skills to his game..
I wouldn't use a buy out for a $1.1M contract for 1 year..
Technically the Flyers could buy out Mark Streit's contract next year, right? |

You may need him to be a regular with the cap being what it is. My thought is you can pay Vitale and Zolniercyzk together pretty much the same as your paying one player in Glass, you do that. They need all the cap space they can get. |

It would be the dumbest move ever, but I'm pretty sure they could. |

What if he just puts up 25 points and is a "-14" player in his first year as the PP QB? |

They are already using one on Briere, that have to save the other one for Bryz. I personally hope they do not buy out Bryz, and then he shatters his leg in the final game of the season next year, and they can't buy him out next summer, and are stuck with that contract for the life of it. |

No... I forget the actual cutoff, but basically only contacts signed before the new CBA can be bought out.

I thought they would roll with Bryz till the end.. they are in a bad position, even after buying out Briere's contract, they still are -$1,485,189 (over the cap). |

I don't like Kennedy at $2 million, but I'll withhold my judgment until after July 5th. So many things could happen either with a trade, TK could reject it, or they could even work out a deal with a lower cap hit.
I haven't seen anything specifically about qualifying Hartzell. That is gonna happen, right? |

Makes a lot of sense.
Is Brad Richards staying now that they have hired Vigneault? |

I would think that with a new coach, and how much money they invested in Richards, they give him another year. If he sucks again, they can always buy him out next summer. |

Hartzell may not need an "NHL" tender which is why he might not be listed. Either way Im sure he will be retained. |
